Single-Page Website Copywriting

Hey, I’m Seth Kabala, a pro-copywriter with over 20 years in the biz, and I provide single-page website copywriting to businesses and non-profits.

What It Isn’t

Website copywriting isn’t just about drafting or generating text. Whether composed from human minds or using AI tools like ChatGPT (and many others), online words are plentiful, but without guidance and structure, these words are as useful to you as paper underwater.

What It Is

Website copywriting is about deeply understanding your brand, your ambitions, your target audience, and your strategic narrative plan to engage that audience.

Why It Matters

But sometimes, you don’t need the full plan. You don’t need Full Website Copywriting. You already understand your brand, ambitions, and target audience; your existing copy reflects this; and you just need one page of copy to finish things up or add to your platform.

Assign Your Writing to Me

It’s not always easy to get that one page written, though, so assign me the task of writing, structuring, and merging a one-off page of copy with your existing content platform.

Whether your goal for this page is to connect, convince, convert, inform, inspire, or educate, my copy will support that goal.

Invest in single-page website copywriting today.

How the Single-Page Copywriting Process Works

The single-page website copywriting process works in 5 steps:

Step 1, We define the specs of your package, which is either my standard package or a custom package that we refine and agree on through a discovery meeting.

Step 2, You pay for your standard package in full or for your custom package according to the terms on which we agree.

Step 3, After I receive your payment, I’ll arrange for an interview where I’ll collect facts, or I’ll send an electronic request for information, to which you’ll respond. We will iterate on this requested-and-received information cycle until I have the facts I need to start creating.

Step 4, I deliver a draft page to you electronically, per our pre-arranged timeline; you provide notes; and I incorporate your notes. We will iterate on this notes-provided-and-incorporated cycle until the page is approved.

Step 5, I deliver all final files to you. If applicable, you pay any remaining balance due.

Reasons to Work with Me

Benefits Specific to Single-Page Website Copywriting

  • Every word counts: In the digital world, every word counts, and even a single page can serve as a potent tool to connect, convince, and convert.

  • Tailored to your brand: Every brand has a unique voice and tone, which must come through on each page. Whether you're fun and quirky or serious and professional, I capture the essence of who you are, slanted toward what you’re trying to accomplish on this single page, ensuring the copy feels authentic, approachable, and a fit for your target audience.

  • SEO-friendly: Visibility is key to success online. I use cutting-edge tools to ensure your content contains relevant, high-traffic keywords in the right places. Further, I structure your copy per modern SEO standards, including H-level headings (H1, H2, H3, etc.), keyword distribution, internal and external links, alt media element descriptions, readability, and many more.

Beyond good narrative flow and clean copy, an SEO, digital-first approach boosts your website's chances to rank high in Google’s organic search results.

Being visible to your target audience while they’re searching with navigational (looking for specific brand), informational (want to learn), commercial (want to buy later), or transactional (want to buy now) intent aligns you with where they are on their customer journey, which gets you one step closer to getting them on your website and making them your customer.

  • Fast turnaround: Your time is valuable. That’s why I’m committed to delivering high-quality Single-Page Website Copywriting within the agreed-upon timeline. Depending on the complexities of your project and the level of engagement you’re able to deliver, I typically turn in a finished draft 1-2 weeks after project kickoff.

Overall Benefits of Working with Me

Decades of trusted service: I’ve been writing professionally since 2003. That’s 20 years (and counting) of trusted experience working for you.

Save time: Let me handle the writing, researching, and editing, while you focus on what you do best: running your business or non-profit.

Transparent process: With me, you're always in the loop. I provide you with regular updates and work product for review, ensuring the final deliverables align with your expectations.

Multifaceted experience: I’ve worked for or with just about every type of organization in existence, including small businesses, local government, large corporations, consulting firms, churches, and state government, so chances are, I already have a good understanding of how your operation runs. I just need project details from you.

Rush service: If desired, rush service is available for an additional 25% fee. This service pushes you to the head of my production queue, guaranteeing delivery of your creative as soon as possible, which can reduce lead time from weeks to days.

Specs

This package contains the following specs:

  • Up to 1,000 words

  • 1 top- or sub-level navigation page, which is typically, but is not required to be, one of the following:

    • Home page

      • Hero messaging or rah-rah, look-how-great-we-are-and-why-you-should-care copy. This is where you get to shamelessly self-promote–in a factual way, of course.

    • About Us page

      • Summary reporting on the following:

        • Who We Are

        • Where We Came From

        • When We Got Started

        • What We Do

        • How We Do It

        • Why We Do It (mission, vision, values)

        • Why You Should Care (value proposition, e.g., benefits to your customers)

      • Note: A single-page About Us piece is separate from the About Us Stories service I offer.

A single-page About Us piece may be exactly what you need, but it is smaller in scope than an About Us story, which allows for the full storytelling gamut of who, what, when, where, why, how, and all the mission, vision, values, and social proof you want.

In sum, a single-page About Us piece is the basic service, while an About Us story is the premium service.

    • Processes page

      • Step-by-step expansion on How We Do It

      • 1 process described

    • Capabilities page

      • Skills-based expansion on What We Do

      • Up to 5 individual subpage product descriptions

      • Note: If you select a products page, you will get more than one top- or sub-level page as part of the standard package (see previous detail). This is the first of two (1 of 2) exceptions to my single-page copywriting service.

    • Services

      • Summary description of offerings, plus

      • Up to 3 individual subpage service descriptions

      • Note: If you select a services page, you will get more than one top- or sub-level page as part of the standard package (see previous detail). This is the second of two (2 of 2) exceptions to my single-page copywriting service.

    • Careers

      • Summary description of careers offered

    • News

      • Summary description of news feed

    • Blog/Knowledge Base

      • Summary description of expanded knowledge base

    • Contact Us

      • Summary description and information architecting to ensure you are appealing to and capturing the right information from your target audience

  • SEO advice for keywords, structure, links, and narrative flow

  • 3rd person, past tense verbiage

  • 1 client-side subject matter expert (SME) who will provide facts and answer questions either in a live interview or through electronic communication

  • 1 client-side point-of-contact, who will typically be the decision-maker/owner of this creative and may be (but is not required to be) the same person as the SME

  • Work-for-hire rights, meaning after you pay for this creative, you are considered to be the author/publisher and may do anything with it that you like, with one express grant: After accounting for any restrictions on confidential information that may be in force, you grant me the right to use this piece in my portfolio.
