Editorial Direction

Hey, I’m Seth Kabala, a pro-copywriter with over 20 years in the biz, and I provide editorial direction consulting to individual creators, businesses, and non-profits.

Is Your Writing the Best It Can Be?

Think about your text-based content and then answer these questions:

  • Is it readable?

  • Is it copyedited, clean, and error-free?

  • Is it achieving the goal you’ve set?

  • Have you set a goal for your content?

  • Is it useful to your intended audience?

  • Have you defined what usefulness means to your audience?

  • Does it have a strong narrative thesis that it establishes, builds upon, and wraps up satisfactorily, i.e., does it have a point, stick to that point, and avoid chasing rabbit trails?

In sum, is your content as good as it could be?

If you answered no to any of these, we need to talk.

What It Is and Why It Matters

Professional editorial direction takes the words you have and advises you on how to increase their power, giving you the tools you need to transform your content into compelling, goal-based narratives that resonate with your audience.

Invest in editorial direction today.

How the Editorial Direction Consulting Process Works

The editorial direction consulting process works in 5 steps:

Step 1, We define the specs of your package, which is either my standard package or a custom package that we refine and agree on through a discovery meeting.

Step 2, You pay for your standard package in full or for your custom package according to the terms on which we agree.

Step 3, After I receive your payment, I’ll arrange for an interview where I’ll collect facts, or I’ll send an electronic request for information, to which you’ll respond. We will iterate on this requested-and-received information cycle until I have the facts I need to start editing.

Step 4, I will read your content, mark it up with questions, comments, and recommendations. Then, per our pre-arranged timeline, I will electronically deliver to you (1) the fully marked-up draft and (2) a report containing a summary of my editorial direction. You will review these deliverables, ask any questions you have, and I will answer your questions. We will iterate on this questions-asked-and-answered cycle until you have the answers you need to move forward.

Step 5, I deliver all final files to you. If applicable, you pay any remaining balance due.
